The Legion of Mary is an international organization of Catholics who help their parishes by placing themselves under the banner of Mary to develop greater holiness in themselves and spread a deeper devotion to her among parishioners.

Some of their duties include:

• weekly attendances of the praesidium
• daily recitation of the catena (Legion Prayer)
• performing assigned weekly apostolic work like visting and giving communion to the sick and homebound, distributing Catholic literature, spreading devotion to Mary, and reciting the Rosary at wakes and funerals.
